Michael P. Taubman

Michael P. Taubman began his legal career as in-house counsel for an energy & renewable fuels company. In this role, he advised executive and middle management in matters of business transactions, commercial project development, employment matters, intellectual property licensing, oil & gas matters and securities regulation reporting. Michael also served as the government affairs manager for lobbying and contract administration under the Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) and Dept. of Defense FAR Supplement. (DFARS).

After serving as in-house counsel, Michael opened and operated his own law practice for 12 years before joining Welsh & McGough. He brought his legal and management experiences to bear for emerging and established business owners as well as families and individuals during this time. Michael expanded into trial practice in areas of civil litigation, family and domestic, guardianships, juvenile deprived, and wills, trusts and probate. Additionally, Michael serves as the editor in chief of Tulsa Lawyer Magazine, a monthly publication of the Tulsa County Bar Association, where he has authored over 30 articles since 2011.

A native Tulsan and an active member of the Tulsa community, Michael’s background and professional experiences led to various roles in the service of and on boards for local non-profit organizations, including the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Green Country, Christ the King Catholic church, City of Tulsa Sales Tax Oversight Committee, Knights of Columbus Council 1104, Marquette Catholic School, Comets Lacrosse, Inc., and the Tulsa County Bar Association.
